Cobra cb blowing fuse
Idk why is was working good when i wired it straight to the battery. I just don't want to do that again. I hooked it up to a cig lighter plug Blew the fuse in both the cb and the cig plug.
The cb can be off when i plug the cig lighter in and it blows before i can even turn the cb on.
To the radio fuse blue both. Dose the antenna need to be hooked up first?

If your sure it was hooked up properly and it still will not power up then I'd suspect something inside has blown. If you have the 29LTD BT here is the data for it. cobra 29ltd bt

Chances are when you wired the cig plug you did it backwards. When you plugged it in it blew/shorted a diode inside which is there to prevent damage to the unit in case it is wired reverse polarity.
You'll need to take it to a repair shop to have it fixed. I don't recommend you try to fix it yourself.

Sometimes there is a fuse inside of the CB; pop the cover and see.
Most CB's have a protection circuit against reverse hookup.
When/if you do pop the cover smell inside the CB and if you smell something burt, well...
When you hooked the CB up to the battery the second time:
1) Did you have the Microphone install when you tried to turned it on; I believe the Cobra's need the mic in place ?
2) Were there any lights on when you turned it on ?
3) I am going to say this but don't get pixxed, RED = 12V pwr, Black = Ground ?
