Front Tow Hooks

can i put the level II tow hooks on my edge with a body lift??

Trigger01 Jan 2, 2009 09:12 PM

Yes, but you will need to make new mounts or cut the valance.

Fx4wannabe01 Jan 2, 2009 09:44 PM

body lift = elimination of stock towhooks OR cutting of valence OR making new bracketry and make the hooks work with the bodylift. Putting Fx4 Knuckle style hooks required triming of the valence even in stock form.

Yellow_edge_4x4 Jan 2, 2009 10:05 PM

ok...well thats a no go then...dont have the tools to cut and all that fun stuff :(

Fx4wannabe01 Jan 2, 2009 10:08 PM

all it takes is a little bit of heat and a boxcutter...

Yellow_edge_4x4 Jan 2, 2009 10:13 PM

mmmm damn it shane fist the headlight now this..lol..whats next...lol...where can i find the tow hooks at...will i need to drill holes??

Fx4wannabe01 Jan 2, 2009 10:49 PM

took me a good 6 months of hardcore searching...

they sometimes pop up on ebay. my tease thread shows the knuckle style 02-04 level 2 hooks.

Redneckstone Jan 2, 2009 10:50 PM

Redrocket Jan 3, 2009 07:45 AM

DSFD506 Jan 3, 2009 08:08 AM

ahhh I think i'll just stick with my factory black ones

wickedranger Jan 3, 2009 08:46 AM

i'll have to agree on the black ones...

Fx4wannabe01 Jan 3, 2009 12:36 PM

NEVER a chain.....a recovery strap.

and only offered on the top of the line model for only 4 years. the rarity makes 'em bamf.

they are stainless not chrome.

why do people prefer them? because they are a J design meaning you can slip on a strap with out "tieing" it to the hook it will accept it.

Fx4wannabe01 Jan 3, 2009 03:58 PM

slip the strap to it, done. no extra bs like a shackle to deal with. quick easy fast tugs if needed.

i like my tow hooks on my FX4 ;]

makes it way easy to hook up a strap or a tow hook.

The hardest part i find is finding the recovery point on the other vehicle.
