Fuel guage always reads full!!!!
I wish it was because someone comes by with a pump and fills it.....but it's not..:grumpy: I replaced the pump/sending unit in the tank...still full....I did some searching and someone said on the back of the guage there is a slosh module...don't know what that is....Could that be the issue?

I had that problem and the harness wasn't plugged in all the way. Underneath the truck near the rear of the trans is where mine was not snapped together. The slosh module is in the instument cluster. You have to remove the cluster to get to it.

your float inside the tank might have a hole in it thus its fule of gas and dont float no more. lol. thats whats wrong with the one in my ranger.
|
If it didn't float,
it would read empty :Thinkingo On older model rangers, it would read full when you ground the wire and empty with an open circuit. |
I wish my gauge always read "full"......and that the tank was full. LOL

It's a '93 and the float is new...it may have a hole in it but I doubt it....does the slosh modual have something to do with it? If I go to the Ford dealer and ask for a slosh modual will they understand? This is the first time I ever heard that term....

It's definitely a ground/wiring problem. Check the wiring.

I had the same problem.
Next time you fill up (If you don't already) won't leave your truck on. It sends a CEL and makes your tank read above full all the time until you clear the CEL and shut on off 12 times. Sounds wacky--but true. |
