Fuel line disconnect - need tips.

Hi guys pulling the motor on my truck. Either going to replace it with a newer motor or rebuild the timing chains.
Truck is 03, 4.0L 4x4.

I am having trouble with Fuel line disconnecting , I bought a toolset to remove the fuel line going up to the motor, however after watching a few videos and poking at it, I cant get it to budge. I tried pushing, pulling, squeezing with the tool (5/8) however I cant get it to break free. Any tips here?

Also can a motor be pulled with the clutch fan left on? I don't have a clutch fan wrench, and looked around locally. Auto parts store told me the ranger requires a special one that will have to be ordered.

Do you have a strap wrench?

How about an old belt(hold up you pants kind)?

You just need to hold the water pump pulley with a strap
Put duct tape on the pulley for a better grip

4.0l uses regular threads, lefty loosy, righty tighty, lol
Just use a thin crescent wrench or open end on the fan clutch nut

You can of course pull the engine with fan in place, it will most like be damaged when engine swings, so heads up

Ford fan clutch uses standard wrench set, so not sure why auto parts store wouldn't have it

Perfect thanks for the tips, ill buy a strap wrench. I got a pair of those vice grips with a chain on it but its a bit troublesome getting it on in there.

Yeah it was strange the parts store said they had one to fit a 3.0L but not a 4.0L lol.. i dont know whats going on there either. Ill keep looking, i got two wrenches, one too big to fit in there and the other to small to go around the nut lol!

Read here: OEM 2 pcs. fan clutch wrench set 27018 - Read 4 Reviews on OEM #27018

"Used to remove fan clutch assemble on: Ford ’84 to ’91 4.9 L E & F series trucks, ’ 83 to 89 2.8 L Bronco II and Ranger trucks; ’88 3.0 L Aerostar vans; ’90 and newer 4.0 L, Bronco II, ’87 & newer Explorer and Ranger trucks"

You can also loosen one of the water pump pulley bolts so you can wedge in a longer screw driver to hold it in place while turning the nut

Perfect thanks, hopefully will have it out this evening. So far so good. The top starter bolt wasn't fun getting to lol. Thought I became part of the truck at one point when I wedged myself in there..

My main fuel line seems to be seized as I've tried using a few tools and can't get it to budge. Also soaked it in PB Blaster ( as so is everything else ).. any ideas?

Thanks
