FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
 
2004 3.0 Vulcan Ranger Edge Original Owner 80K total miles.
I don't drive it very much these days. Last year, I went somewhere, parked, turned off, and spent 20 minutes away from the truck. Then I tried to start it. It wouldn't start. It started and ran fine after I reset the FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH. I never went over any bumps and there were no jolts before parking - I just drove and parked, driving in normal traffic, and then it wouldn't start after that. I have run the truck for various short-range chores maybe 10 times since then. Today, I took the truck to go somewhere and it ran fine, but after a 10-minute stop it again wouldn't start. I could tell that the fuel pump c/o switch was the problem (same symptoms), but resetting the switch didn't work. Tried and tried. Checked all the fuses, etc. Ended up calling for a tow truck. Then 20 minutes later, the truck started like nothing happened. I was able to cancel the tow.
But I can no longer trust the truck. Ideas? Fuel pump relay, or it it the inertial shut-off switch itself?
