Exactly Which Sylvania Silverstar ?

Exactly Which Sylvania Silverstar ?
I've read all the Silverstar related posts, however I still have a question. The Sylvania site lists the following compatible headlight bulbs for the '01 Ranger.
9007SU Silverstar ULTRA for Ultra Night Vision - The Whitest and Brightest Halogen
9007ST Silverstar High Performance Lighting: The Whiter and Brighter Halogen
I've not seen anyone distinguish as to which one they're using in their rig. I've only found the "ST" version available online for purchase. Is there a big difference between the SU and ST? Which one do you use?

Everyone here prolly has the "ST" version....I am guessing the "SU" version is a new version....I couldn't find it mentioned ANYWHERE, other than on the Osram website (just like you).
Looks like they are coming out with a new version! Or, I could be completely wrong! I am sure others will chime in as well....

Alright, well I talked to a few on my buddies, they say that the "Ultra" versions are now out in a few stores around here....in the next few days I am going to check them out, I will let you know what I find out. But, I also found the following on there webiste: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...on/default.htm

They are much better then stock for sure. I've had my headlight bulbs for 3 years now. I had a problem with the fog lights burning out due to moisture getting in around the harness (the 9006's arn't really the right application). Ever since my accident and the fog lights were replaced....I never had a problem (going on 1.5 years now).

You are known for having the best illumination tools and you settle for ST's?
I found this thread because I had a headlight lamp (low Beam) go out on my Ranger this week. I am definately going with the SU's and Autozone has them now.
I'm sure those STs will be a big improvement. We upgraded to Silverstar fogs in our Jeep last year and it was a big improvement over stock.

I couldn't find the SU's anywhere, so I "settled" for the ST's. I was able to get 20-minutes between thunderstorms last night to install the ST's. They really do make a difference. This morning driving to work in the dark was awesome. I can't believe the difference they make. Now, I'll have to try these in the fogs lights (after I find the part number of the correct ones for the fogs).

The ST's really did nicely this morning in the race. I'm pleased with them. I also purchased a couple 9005ST's to put in the flog lights. I tried installing them tonight, but they don't quite seem to fit. Am I supposed to mod these somehow to get them into the light casing? The plug end fits fine.

I didn't have any problem putting mine in the foglights. I thing I got the cool blue series 9005's. But I just ordered EuroDezigns 8500K 9005 foglights. They should be nice and blue like my headlights. They're the same thing but 9007's. I saw the SU's at Autozone, I'm going to have a friend get them because his headlights are dim. I'll let you know what the outcome is.

I picked up a pair of Headlights (9007SU's) and a set of Fogs (9006SU's) at Autozone today. They also had a $10.00 mail-in rebate per pair going. So the SU's after rebate were $39.00 a pair plus tax. Will have to get them installed soon and test these!
TINC-Glad the ST's are working out for you. White Light is great!
