getting ticked off at the taurus

sorry, not rangers, but ford family question. my family has a 1999 mercury sable, a 2001 taurus, and a 2002 taurus. all 3 of them have a faulty door sensor and when the doors are closed the dome light stays on and sometimes it beeps. i've looked for a contact spot, or some kind of sensor around the doors, but cant find a thing. anyone else with a taurus have this problem or know how to fix it?

Maybe the sensor is the in the latch like on Rangers. The fix on Rangers is WD40.

My parents 03 Expedition is the same way. I just sprayed all the latch points on the doors with electrical cleaner and it fixed it for a while.
