GPS Mounting Ideas???
 

Alright guys going to get the new Garmin 2720 GPS...I am planning on hardwiring it into my truck, as well as figuring out how I can get the voice directions to go thru my speakers instead of the external speaker/power source it comes with. BUT anways, I am trying to figure out a cool way to mount it...anyone else mount a similiar GPS in there Ranger?? Pictures would really help me out here....Not sure how it would look just mounted up on the dash.....

robin had his mounted up on his dash and I thought it looked pretty shnazzy. another thing you might consider that would be really cool is to go wth an Exploder console and work it into the console. thats would be REAAALLLLY smooth lookin.



BTW where in Ft. Collins do you live?



EDIT: also thats a kickass unit but ******* that is EXPENSIVE. with such an expensive unit, I think it would be an injustice if you didnt do a exploder console with it molded it uber nice...

I assume your talking about the floor console? Just trying to picture if I could even pull that off...
I was actually thinking about having it mounted down low, where the stock cupgholders are now....Right near the airbag switch....


Yeah that unit is pricey...but you can get it for a little cheaper ($900) still up there...but I do alot of driving for work...and this little thing will bail me out big time....

im talking abut the floor console. darkstarskate did a sick ass console with an ip[od docking station molded in. Ill try to find the pic...



EDIT: well, its not a exploder console, but impressive none the less. Im sure you could mod an exploder console as well...

Yeah I just found that one too...That is one hell of a project...not sure if I am down for all that....Do you know if Robin has posted any picts of it up there? Just trying to figure out if this thing mounted up there is gonna piss me of or anything...

robin doesnt usually come to ths site that much, and he has since sold his ranger. If you lok aruond on cardomain you might able to fins his ride and some pics of it. Ill look for those too....

You can try ProFit International. I got one of their VSM for my Sirius and it worked out well. They have one called the UltiMount.
