Grease in Manual steering box?

Changing my power steering to manual, due to leaky power steering gearbox.

Should I open up the manual box and re-grease it? Bought it from a junk yard so its used, seems smooth when turing the box by hand, but if its easy enought and will help, I'll fill it with grease..

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know much about steering, but I will post this:

It can't hurt to grease it up.

Why aren't you replacing the power steering stuff?

I've replaced the power steering pump and hoses, and it never worked, the power box is more expensive, plus just harder to work on. Since I've been driving the car with broken power steering for 3 years now, I figured manual steering will be an "upgrade".

It looks like there are 3 plugs that unsrew on one side of the box, then a larger one on the other side. Can anyone tell me which one I should try to open so I don't screw this up?

Oh. For some reason I had the idea that you were converting your Ranger to manual steering.

What kind of car is it?
