H/O Alternator

who's running them and whats a good brand?

my winch pulls the bat. needle down to where it sits when the trucks off :irked:
that coupled with the Hellas, and maybe OBA at some point, i need something better than 8 y/o stock lol

im planning on getting an Optima too, so that takes care of the "you need a better battery" argument lol

I'm running a 200 amp alternator on my truck. I bought it on ebay for around 100 bucks. It took a little work to get it to mate up to my 5.0 but it seems to work pretty well with everything I run. It's made by Motorcraft, called the 3g, which comes in different outputs. They have some around for even 60 to 70 bucks that put out 130 amps.

dont forget it wont make more amps at idle.

yea i know.
thats the problem but when i use the winch i keep the RPMs up

im not really worried about the OBA or lights its mainly the winch.. and when the lights are on im rarely at idle :mischievo
