Headlight Switch Issues?
Headlight Switch Issues?
So for the past 3 or 4 days (since last Friday), my Ranger has been acting up. I went to crank it (for the second time) Friday afternoon and the battery was completely drained. When I was jumping it off, I noticed that the headlights were on, even though the switch was turned all the way to the "off" position. Finally got it cranked, had to drive 2.5 hours home from college, and by the time I got home, the lights would actually turn off with the switch. I had chalked it up to something weird, and it was working fine through the weekend, both staying charged and with the switch working. However, when I went to start it today, the battery was drained again.
Took the battery to be tested- it's good. What are the odds that I just need to replace my headlight switch? All of my fuses are good.
It only has like 58k miles (even though it's an 02), so this is one of the first major problems I've had, thankfully.

Yes, head light switch has power all the time, so if it is powering head lights in OFF position your battery would get drained.
Fuse wouldn't be the problem
So that really only leaves light switch, but...............multi-function switch(turn signal stalk) also has power all the time for "flash to pass" head light function.
Does the turn signal stalk "feel OK"?
Does "flash to pass" work, ON/OFF no looseness?
