Master Lock Anti-Theft

I came across this replacement relay made by Master Lock. It seems pretty cool and simple.

"Simply replace the existing relay with the Starter Sentry relay. 64-bit rolling code can't be sniffed, grabbed or hacked.. Compatible with all factory and aftermarket remote keyless entry, alarm and security systems. Won't interfere with vehicle's electrical system. Complete with relay and two transmitters."

Anybody had this? What are your opinions.

The point is if that somebody stries to steal your truck they can't. Here in Phoenix there are tons of auto thefts. Many vehicles end up in Mexico.

on the newer rangers, wont they not start without the key anyways? i thought there was like a chip or something in the key and it will only start if the key starts it. but does that apply to hot wiring to? probably not?

Shouldn't the truck not start without a properly coded PATS key anyway?

My 2005 Ranger doesn't have PATS or anything from the factory. You could take my key go to walmart and get a copy and drive my truck. I already have my own security (starter, fuel pump kill) along with a club. Yeah I know somebody can get through a club but they won't be able to drive off with it.

For $70, if it gives you peace of mind then it's worth every penny.

I ordered it. Came in nice and quick, super easy to install (unplug factory relay and put the new one in). No issues. Works as advertised!

You'll like it Mykhael. If you set it to auto on and off it'll work like it's supposed to, but if you don't shake, rattle, or move your keys, the Mater Lock key fob won't turn on and your truck won't start. I messed with it this morning. I slowly walked to my truck with the key fob in my hand. There is a motion sensor in the key fob and I didn't move it so it didn't turn on to check distance and to either engage ro disengage the relay. Then I barely moved it and it started just fine. It's pretty good! I was walking and keeping my hand steady like there is a motion sensor gernade in my hand. I just had to test it out and mess with it.

My review.

So if it isn't in auto on/off and you shake it wont start?

That would suck if it was really cold outside.
