Headlights stopped turning on
I have a 99 ford ranger and my low beams and high beams quit turning on. i checked fuses, relays, bulbs, and put on a new switch that controls the blinkers and wipers but still no headlights. i’m able to pull the handle back to turn the flashes on but that’s all that will cut on. im not sure on what else to check that could be the issue so i could use some insight on what else could be the issue. i drove to work one morning and they worked but when i got home they didn’t work anymore.

Welcome to the forum
Switch you changed is called the Multi-function switch, just FYI The Flash to Pass function gets power from the same fuse(fuse 12 in engine bay fuse box) as the headlights but Bypasses the Main Light switch, its wire goes directly to multi-function switch from fuse 12 So main light switch may be the problem There are 3 other fuses involved but longshot all 3 would be blown They are in the cab fuse box Fuse 33 for High Beams(so its OK if Flash To Pass works) Fuses 4 and 8, one for each side Low Beam For low and high beams Fuse 12------------------main light switch------------------multi-function switch---------------Cab fuse box--------------------------------------head lights(low and high beams) Flash to Pass Fuse 12-----------------------------------------------------multi-function switch---------------Cab fuse box(fuse 33)----------------------------high beams only |
