I did do the same for the cruise control and fog light swtch. My head light switch is burnt out so i didnt bother with that. the ac panel has a green backing that all you have to do is take it out when you take it apart and then paint the bulbs red. All the other lights on your gauges like high beams, turn signal, door ajar, etc. you can leave them the color they are or you can sand off the color on the back of the gauge lay over and then paint the bulb to change them to red.

I removed the green paint and installed blue inverted 194 leds from superbrightleds.com (now ebay may be cheaper)
THIS MOD IS NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART
I went a step further and tried to mod white leds into the ***** but that didnt last too long esp when friends decided the need to rip the heater on.
The theft led was and easy mod just dont burn your fingers soldering.

I like this LED mod alot, but it looks like you have 'hot spots' everywhere. I'm doing this mod to my stock radio, and from a site I've been at for about 3 years they have a write-up on a complete LED light conversion done in a 93 Accord.
The owner that did it used 3mm LEDs with 560 ohm resistors. But for my truck I'm going with N3ELZ's suggestion and use 5mm with 470 ohm 1/4 resistor.
I'm debating on whether to use 360 degree viewing angle LEDs since they seem much better since they 'spread' the lighting effect everywhere in the vehicle making the interior brighter.
Heres another place to try out http://lsdiodes.com/
and for the write-up? That can be found here: Cb7tuner.com DIY: INT LED
:edit:
According to various sources the higher the MCD the brighter it is. 2500 or higher is recommended by John (N3ELZ) if you substitute a different LED rather than a high intensity LED.

That is sweet. I would like to do something like that to mine, but I worry that the blue would cause some night blindness. Red would be great, but I'm not that big a fan of the color. yeash...what a predicament.
My truck is green but I can't imagine being bathed in green light...might make me hate the color of my ride.

Have you done the dome lights to leds yet?
I have 2 white 912 and a 44mm festoon in my dome light, looks kinda like the light from a full moon.
