heater

I own a 2019 Ranger Lariat. When I turn the heater on, I don't feel the air coming from anywhere, not the dash or the floor If I put the defroster on, air will come from there. Do I have to have the A/C on to get the air to flow through the dashboard vents? Seems silly to have your compressor running when you are asking for 74 degree air.

Doing so takes the humidity out of the air that does come out so it doesn't condense on the windshield.
