heating? help!!!

ok so my heater has been out for awhile now and it is getting really annoying. it trickels heat but has no varrying speeds. i first checked all fuses and nothing. i checked the blower it self, hooked it up straight to the battery, and it worked. so i know the blower motor is good. i also replaced the hvac switch inside my truck, still nothing. then used the search button heard about the resistor plug being **** to go out. so i orded one and got it today, installed it and still nothing. i doubled checked my fuses one more time just too make sure and sure enough they are all still good.

what could it be this is getting really annoying.

I had the same problem. Where the speed switch is make sure that all 4 wires are pluged in to the conector.

check your blower motor resistor it should be under the hood on the back side of the blower

Chesk fuse #2 in the dash fuse panel and fuse #2 in the underhood distribution box. Both must be good for the blower to operate.

The blower relay could be bad. It is in the underhood distribution box. Consult the map of the box in the Roadside Emergencies section of your owners manual or use the O/M link in my signature. Cost should be under $10 but I would look for a similar relay to swap for a quick test before buying one. In my experience, the OE Ford relay is much better than many of the aftermarket replacements available.

Also Inspect the condition of the electrical plugs at the blower and at the blower resistor. The pins tend to corrode.

thanks for the reply guys but like i said i have already replaced the resistor and yes i checked the relays and all the fuses many times now. i did not have a chance to even call. have not had my truck at hand, for the past few days. i have not been driving it due too a crack in the tranny. so i will fix that another 450 down the drain then back to this problem. i think i can swap the new one in about a day it just finding the time.
