I am going to put HIDs into the Hellas but I am wondering how do you put power to them and have then wired into a aux switch... I am going to do this to 4 of them. I know the ballasts have a plug in that is usually plus and play. But I won't be using the plug and play so what will I need to do?

My first concern, does the HID BULB create more heat than the incandescent bulb ?

If so, how much can the Hella Housings handle ?

As fade as the wiring and the plug and play, I would think you can use the HID wiring I the Hella Housing.
Only concern is what type of wire is used between the transformer and the bulb.
The switch is standard aux light hookup.

 

The housing is metal and the lens is glass, the back of the housing will have to be modified to accept the longer HID bulb

 

Yeah I know the housing will be modified but I am just wondering about the wiring not the housing.

I am meaning the wiring after you get everything mounted and running power to the ballast as you usually plug it into you factory headlight plug.

And I guessing you just join your hot wire from the battery to the hot wire on the ballast and ground the ballast.
