1999 battery saver circuit and locations

1999, 2.5. auto, 2wheel drive, stock ranger.
My battery will go dead enough that I can't crank after about 10 days. Battery checks OK at a parts store. drain with door shut and every thing off is 179 mili amps. ( seems way to high to me. )I have searched forums, here and elsewhere, and the battery saver relay and circuit is regularly pointed to. I have nor been able to find a schematic that shows the circuit not any indication of part location. ( Chilton is lacking in electrical area. ) Fuse #29 removed drops the drain way down.

A "aux" relay box was mentioned and I think I found it under the dash but there is no hint as to which relay in it are which. Mention was made as to one output of the Battery Saver relay goes to the GEM. What function does this perform ? ( Can I operate with #29 removed ? )

Any help or information would be appreciated!!

Battery saver relay is behind the radio

But you need to test battery drain AFTER 40 minutes, to see if battery saver is working.

Battery drain should be 0.03(30mA) to 0.07(70mA)amps after relay opens.

test battery after it sits overnite, 12.3volts or higher is OK.
12.2 is getting pretty old, less is too old, find a battery sale
New battery will test 12.8volts = 100%
12.2volts = 60%
that 12.2volts will drop to 12.0v on a cold morning and click, click, click

Then leave voltmeter connected and disconnect coil wire, so no spark, have some one crank the starter for 15 seconds and watch the battery voltage, if it is dipping below 9.5volts it is time to change batteries

Thanks Ron,

When I impatiently waited an hour the current drops to 18ma so this seems to point the finger straight at the battery.

Is "behind the radio" a relay box with a snap off cover sort of behind the radio but accessible from the drivers side foot well ??

Again Thanks
