Broken CV Joint

I was out wheeling yesterday and while being stupid I decided I'd follow this small little k5 over this bank and forgot what I was driving. Quickly I was stuck belly up and couldn't do anything about it, after breaking numerous straps we got a chain and I got myself out with a little help of some wood, LOTS of jacking and raising the vehicle.

Anyhow, in the process I broke my CV joint/it went bad (boot was already f***ed).

So anyhow now when I drive I can hear it banging and all kinds of strange noises coming from it.

How long would I be able to drive it like this? I don't have money for the part right now, so should I just put it in the garage, or is it fine to drive around for now as I'll have it in rear wheel drive.

It rotates freely with your hand.

?
