Icon2 Lost my keys!!

Well called a tow truck to unlock my truck to see if my keys were inside...He couldnt get it open, it kept locking back. SO I gotta go to a local Ford Dealer get a $5 dollar key to get into the truck then tow the truck to the dealer an get another key cut so i can crank it....So that sucks, another Ford dealer close by said itd be $150 for 2 keys they HAVE to cut, versus the other dealer that wants only $35 for one key to work on my truck.....So thats weird, anyone have any input??

ALso when he pressed the unlock button trying to get into the truck it wouldnt unlock?

Look for a mobile locksmith. We use one here all the time and he not only can get in your truck, he can also cut a program your key in about 15-20 minutes. All of that should only cost about $150.

You have PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) in your truck. The only for the dealer to get you another key is to reprogram that system with 2 new keys. They keys themselves are expensive since they have a micro-chip inside of them. You cant just use a standard key to start your truck, it will work for the doors but not the ignition.

You can zip tie one PATS key under the steering shroud and then you can use regular cut keys in the ignition.

2 minutes? My buddy works at a Just Tires and their shop truck is a Ranger. They practice when they are bored. He has got it down to under 10 seconds.

OP. What you should do next time is get good ebay keys and program them yourself. https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...pats-keys.html Keep the 2 main keys in the house in case you lose the other keys again then you can just use the main keys until you order up another set of ebay keys.. Don't tape a key to the column. That is a bad idea.

Agree 100%. You can program the keys yourself, its really easy. You have to have 2 keys already to do it though.

well when i got a BL, the Tcase shifter stayed put, so basically i sunk 3"...I made a lever extension put like BOB said the angle was worse, so it hit the bezel. I ended up taking the square insert with the rubber piece out and just bolted the shifter to the lever extension, it saved a lot of room..

.Well I had to cut a 1/2" square in the floorboard and cut the rubber out....It still hits the bezel a tiny bit but it shifts into all the gears..Now i gotta go back and put a rubber piece there to cover up the hole in the floorboard....

LONG STORY short the shifter wouldnt go into 4lo because the floorboard, so i cut it some, now its shifts.
