My truck's engine is from the same family of engines as yours...it just has a slightly larger displacement. It produced 119 hp stock. That's not terrible for a SOHC 4-cyl first introduced over 30 years ago.
If it makes you feel better, my parents had a 1986 Ranger Super Cab with a whopping 90 hp. It never went anywhere fast. Chances are it never went over 70 MPH while my parents had it though.

Keep in mind that the turbo 2.3s had slightly different internals so they could hold up to the boost. It might be best to just buy an entire Super Coupe parts car or something...or at least the entire engine...if you want to go that route. You can put a turbo on your current engine, but one built from the factory to handle the turbo will likely last longer.

well I thought about it this is no race vehicle i just wanna be lil more faster in traffic cause I'm gonna be going to college and with the 3.73 It does horrible in traffic, slow take off etc...I'm thinking 4:10 ratio anyone have a link to them?
id just keep it where its at, I doubt you will notice that much of a gain for as much as you will pay for the gears and to pay to install them or the time it takes to install them for such a minor gain the price ration just doesnt seem right unless your bed is full of money...
