Horn issue for years now

My 2001 ranger my dad gave to me when he was not able to drive. Mint condition but it was his dream custom sound and more power all kinds of interior mods. I've been fixing the broken things and started all electrical mods.

One thing he never fixed was the horn. No idea what's up. I happed to have radio out. I push the horn I hear a clicking like it wants to go but no sound. Any ideas of a dumb easy fix for this.

most of his fixes are easy as he kept up on everything. Is there a fuse or relay behind the glove box
I have the diagrams I checks all fuse boxes everything is fine and now wondering if there is something under the hood.

Let me know what I should do? Just buy a horn replacement. Could it be the connection on the steering wheel itself. My old man use to beat that like he use to beat me lol.

I'd test for voltage at the horn terminals first.

You can get your 2001 Owners Manual here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...1-models-3747/

It will show you fuse box and relays layouts

Fuse 35 in Cab Fuse box is for the Horn
And there is a horn relay in Aux Relay Box 1, its above gas pedal in cab, if you hear a relay "click" when you press the horn buttons the fuse is OK
As said above it could be the horn is broken

Turn on your 4-way flashers, key off
The flasher relay is in Aux relay box as well, you should hear it clicking, follow the sound, Aux relay box has a cover over it, as said above gas pedal

One lay out is here: https://ww2-secure.justanswer.com/up...relays_one.gif

Layouts vary by Options, i.e. power windows
