This is always good thing to start out with: Mod Bargains: Pro Comp Recovery Kit and Tow Straps
A Front Receiver Hitch this can come in handy if you don't have tow hooks from factory, plus it might be a little stronger then stock tow hooks. Can add a Tow Hook or D-Ring utilizing the Receiver.
Getting a Tool Box can help organize your tools and gear. Mount up a High-Lift Jack etc...
Viair on board air system. That way you can air down for the trail and air back up to travel back home. And add Truck horns to it as well!
Rat-Cage Spare Tire carrier This is my favorite tire carrier. Can be removed from the bed if needed by 4 pins. Tire mount flips up. Outdoors Sportsman has many accessories like Bike Holder, Shovel and Ax Mount, Hi-Lift Jack mount, Fishing pole mount for fishing off the back end of the truck, and more
Edit: So you plan on staying in Germany?

Ok you found the links?! Underlined words are links.
IMO the ranger roof will not hold that well with a roof rack if you try putting a full size tire and bunch of other crap could cause the roof to cave in. But im not 100% sure just I wouldn't do it. I would get a shell and put a roof rack on that. You can get a bigger one and add lights. These will work well with what you want if you want to go that route:Defender Series Roof Rack

Yes and no.. alot of people just like the ease of paying to get it done.. But then, there are alot of guys that still prefer to do it ourselves.. on the economy, im not really sure, i have never seen anyone doing any work on their own vehicles.. but on-base, we have auto hobby shops that have lifts and such that you can rent.
thats what i do. i change all my friend's oil and all my oil...

I had a shell on my truck for a while and it was good, and I wanted to get the defender roof rack so I can mount up a full size tire and add some off-road lights. But I decided to sell the shell because I knew my truck wasn't going to be used for camping everyday or go off-roading every weekend so I sold it and got a low pro tool box and have been looking at the rat cage for some time now. Shells are good because it increases the mpg due to the less drag it causes, but if you use your bed a lot and have to put big items in there like a dirt bike or atv then most likely you will have to take the shell off. But it's good for camping when it gets wet or cold at night! But you could always get a Truck Bed tent like Melt has. I know I seen pictures of him using it on his Mt. Biking trips!!

Well not everybody plans to go in the ditch when it has over 5 feet of snow in them lol. I use one all the time there made for towing, not the jerking method. Ive probably drug close to 30 cars out of the ditch with mine that I got for free at the hardware store

KC Light Bar
Light Bar Install
Maybe this will help decide how you want to mount your Off-Road Lights!
Edit: 04LVL2 Ranger I think his looks good with how high it is and the added light bar with KC lights add a bada$$ look too it. But he sold it so that's why I can't find any good pics of his Ranger the only one is in his profile.

Yeah this is a prime example of how not to use a hooked tow strap. But the idiots could have found a better way to hook it up to the frame better or a stronger point. Also find an easier way to pull it out of the snow and not over and through the snow.
I like the light bars on certain trucks like 04lvl2's, but not on mine. Just send Shane a PM he can inform you or he might just chime in on this thread.
