How can that be...

Well, after my brakes went out, I got the call from he shop---$ 550

I need new brakes front (50% worn) and back (gone), with some more work on the back ( wheel cylinder, new drums, etc)

The question is the old brakes only lasted 15,000 miles.... and I don't drive like a mad man and slam on the brakes all day. I don't

How could these brakes go so fast. could it have to do with slipping on ice everyday in the ally behind my house?

I'm lost and mad

improper installation when they were first put on?

have you accidentally left on your parking brake in the past?
(my dads done it before in our jeep...it has so much torque we dont even notice in 4WD and we fried the brakes)

no, my light for the brake does not work, so i check it every time and usually never put it on.

When the light stopped working i did the roll test thing, where you just let the truck roll, my truck could never role with the parking brake on before when the light was still working.

I can tell in my truck if i try to drive off with the brake on, could the P brake be stuck on a little bit???

its time to start learning how to work on your truck. Brakes are easy, just bring it home and take it apart. If you have any q's, there are plenty of people on this site willing to give you all the advice you need.

Just do it yourself dude. Brakes are very easy to replace. There is nothing that is really scary about them. Just be careful what you are doing, dont get in a rush, watch your brake lines and make sure you dont put them in a weird angle to were you can break them.

come on guys.... brakes are so easy...... if you want to take a pic of the drum brake set up after you take the drum off, that would help you reference how to put it all back together again. Go buy a chiltons ranger manual and get the pages greasy. Trust me, its really not that hard. Just take you time and pay attention to what your pulling apart.
