How Good are LED Headlights
How Good are LED Headlights
I have a hard time seeing as well as I should while driving at night. I usually don't drive at night unless I really have to or it's an emergency. This morning I had to go about 35 miles to a hearing test appointment at the VA Hospital. Due to known traffic conditions and the fact that it was very dark and raining, I had to leave home at 6am in order to get to the appointment on time. I had a VERY hard time seeing the road, never mind the fact the stripes and markers have not been redone in years.
I am thinking of replacing the factory headlights on both my 96 ranger and my 2014 Hyundai Sonata with LED lamps.
Are the LED headlights that much better than original equipment headlights?
I would appreciate any inputs.

If you are using LED's in your stock reflector housing (you really shouldn't) make sure you are using the kind that mimic a halogen filament and that they are adjustable. Do not waste your money on multi-sided bulbs, they will just scatter the light where you don't want it and you'll blind oncoming traffic. I threw a set into the lights on my plow and it makes a huge difference driving at night. The downside though is that they wont melt any snow or ice build up on your housings.
