Is there a way to tell if the radio in my 2001 needs to have the code if the power is disconnected for a certain length of time? I'm planning on changing the instrument lamps and will be removing the battery cables while doing so.

If it's the factory radio: no code is required.

If it's an aftermarket radio, you can look up it's specs on the internet most likely.
