Another E-fan thread... a little confused.

I bought a 2 speed e-fan out of a 94 Taurus today. I have been reading and reading and I'm still confused about what exactly I need to buy as far as relays, in-line fuses, and wire.

I know the high speed draws a lot of power, so I need at least a 70A relay? But the low speed I only need a 30A?

I have read threads where some people used a fan controller, the Hayden 3647, which looks like it comes with an in-line fuse, a relay, and a temperature probe. Is this enough to power it? Or will I need more relays and possibly circuit breakers?

I also read a how-to that involved using 3 70A relays... but it wasn't real clear as to whether or not it still used the fan controller and temperature probe?

I'm just still confused as to what the best and safest way to hook this thing up is. I think I just need the fan to come on at around 200 degrees F, and kick back off when it cools down to about 180-185? Also, I would think that I want it to come on when my a/c is on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated to help clear this up. Pictures, wiring diagrams, parts lists and numbers would also be a huge help.

Ok, so I'm ordering supplies from DelCity.net for this mod. I have in my shopping cart, 3 70 Amp relays, 20 ft of 10 gauge wire, a 50 Amp manual reset circuit breaker, and 3 30 amp relays (for some other mods), and some quick splices.
I will be picking up a fan controller kit from Pep boys or autozone tomorrow.

Is there anything else I need to install this thing? I think understand how to get it wired up now, except for where to put the circuit breaker? And any advice as to what temperature to set the controller at... I'm thinking just starting the truck up until it's close to operating temperature, and try to set it there?

Haha I bought pretty much the exact same thing from Delcity when I went to install mine. I wish I could remember all the stuff, I never actually installed it though.

Yea, I think I got that list of stuff from reading threads that you replied in. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was leaving out. Lots of looks, no replies, lol.

hey! ive installed a flex-a-lite 180 fan on my 2000 3.0 rickranger :) I got the kit because i didnt want to have to piece anything together and try and make it work... also the 180 has a nice big shroud that mounted vertically only leaves a few inches of my rad uncovered.

Just get any fan that pulls about 3000 cfm, mount it up and get a probe controller, wire the controller into your pos terminal on batt, wire up a good ground, wire into your radio wire or ignition controlled power wire so it doesn't run when ur truck is off. then start your truck from cold and let it warm up with the fan controller on hot, when you know your tstat is open and circulating hot coolant and ur at the upper limit of your temp range turn your controller till the fan comes on.

monitor your temp cycles for about 10 min to make sure its cycling correctly because when your driving the air movement will make it hard to know if your temp probe is set up right. while im driving my fan hardly comes on, only when i stop at a stop light and idle for a few min does it flick on. my temp never gets above 210 even when running lots of WOT :)

pm me with any questions, i'll try and watch this thread too though.

idk if any of those kits control 2 speed fans but I heard of them melting because they cant handle the load. Im running 2 70A relays with a temp sensor, no issues so far. I didnt want an "A/C on" setting cuz I dont need the fan running on the hwy when A/C is running. IDK if you saw my diagram but it works good. I think the quality of your components is VERY important, you can wire them however you want.
