I need to add AC - No AC from factory

No AC from the factory.

I am going to hit the local "Pull-a-Part" yard for the parts. The wiring appears to all be there but I'm not familiar with Ford AC systems.

I know I need:
Compressor
Hoses
Cabin Controls

What are the components needed I might not be aware of?

how about an aftermarket kit? All new parts and everything you'd need. Ebay has many Asian sourced kits for cheap. I've read some good reviews of them.

If you go the junk yard direction, you still need an evaporator core, evap box, condenser (might get by with a used, but new is better!), new drier/receiver, complete wiring harness, and I would be shocked if the interior air box is the same between an AC and non AC truck. You'd also need a complete seal kit. Used AC parts are a crapshoot.

Check out some places like LMC and see what they have and the cost for new parts vs China Parts vs used !

Putting together A/C with used JY parts can be more of a problem that paying the price for new.
