I need help with keyless entry install

I received a Keyless entry kit for Christmas, made by a company called Protocol, that was purchased off from ebay. I am wanting to install this myself on my truck which currently does not have power door locks. I am stumped on a couple of things though and was hopeing that someone on here could help me out seeing as I have never done much wireing before.

First of all the actuators that came with the kit have a blue wire and a green wire attatched to them. The door lock module that came in the kit has a black, a green, and a pink wire which are marked as lock and it has a white, a blue, and an orange wire which is marked as unlock. I am thinking that all I have to do is run the blue wires from the actuators to the blue wire on the door lock module and the same for the green actuator wires. Is this correct? Do I need the other colored wires for anything or would they be used for say hooking up a switch inside the vehicle or something?

My next question is when I go to hook the wires up to the parking lights and the battery and such do I need to run the wires out and under the hood to connect them or could I splice them in inside the cab somewhere? Also what is the best way to make a connection when you are joinging say 3 wires together? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I take it your kit came with no wiring instructions? Unless those are some kind of "standard" colors, or someone has the same kit; I don't think we can do a lot for you.

I'm surprised they didn't give you a sheet or something showing how to hook it up.

Just a sheet showing what each colored wire coming out of the door lock control module is intended to be used for.

Any help on any of the other questions I asked?

From what Im gathering those ebay systems are only coming with two wire actuators when the module was designed to work with the five wire actuator (central lock/unlock feature).

Here are some other threads on the same topic that might help...

Those threads helped out a lot Rev! I have basically the same kit as Trent so I hope that I dont run into the same problems that he did.

Now as far as running the power and ground wires from the control module do I have to run them out to the battery or can they be hooked up inside the cab to a 12v constant and a ground somewhere? Also what is the best way to make a connection when tapping into another wire or when joining 3 seperate wires together?

I'd find a point of constant power from inside the cab and same for ground. Or you can run a power feed to the BJB under hood. One source you could use is the Cig lighter power feed. But where ever take power from be sure to put an inline fuse next to where you tap.

As for making connections/splicing there are several different options. Scotchloks, crimp, or solder.

This diagram may help you understand how the five wire system works on a CLS. Note this is just the CLS Module, but the actuator wiring is the same. Only difference in modules is having the keyless built into it verses this one being connected to an alarm or keyless system.
