Persistent "door ajar" message on dash
When I open and shut the passenger side door, the interior light stays on and the "door ajar" message shows on the dashboard, even after the door's been shut. It will stay on for up to 10 minutes sometimes. It's pretty annoying.
Does anybody else have this problem?

spray a bunch of wd40 in the door jam (where the hindges are and a random bushing). This happened to my old 02, and after I did that, it went off and never happened again in 3 years before I traded it in
you might have to sprey it a few times and open and shut the door a few times to get it to work properly

you want to spray it in the door latch at the rear of the door. the dome light switch is located inside the door, attach to the latch.

Said over and over but I had the GD Chime ringing if I didn’t really slam the driver’s door.
A suggested by P.C. I sprayed the latch with WD-40 worked the latch and door a few times and the problem went away, almost a year now and still OK; this was on an 03 EDGE Single Cab.
Try either the WD-40 or a good Silicone Spray it might work.

i had the problem and thought it was my front doors- i have a xlt 2000 with the 2 suicide doors- the problem was in those 2 rear doors because when i closed them the bottom of the door would still move a little and set off the switch located in the bottom latch- i readjusted the bottom latch in both doors and it took care of my problem- best way to check is sit inside with key on and all doors closed, take your shoulder and push on the door hard and see if the light comes on- if it does thats your problem
