Ignition System Issue
Ignition System Issue
I have a 2005 2.3L I4 AT with spark issues. The truck sat for a few years and when I pulled it into the shop to get it running it threw a misfire code on bank A of the coil pack. The code was a P0351 Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction. I replaced plugs, plug wires, and coil pack. Started the truck up and it ran fine for about 30 minutes and then died while test driving it. Checked spark on the new coil and was not getting any spark on any cylinders. Swapped the old coil back on and got spark on cylinders 2/3 but nothing on 1/4 which was happening before I replaced the coil, plugs, and wires. My question is could a faulty PCM cause the new coil to stop working. I have ran a continuity check on all of the wires that are on the coil pack connector to check for breaks/shorts in that part of the harness. The harness tested fine. I am at a loss here and would like to know if a PCM replacement is the right move or if I am missing something that could be causing this issue. Thanks!
