Junction box

I have a 2007 ranger and my junction box has corrosion in it which is causing a shortage and my truck won’t start sometimes. I need to find a junction box with the engine bay harness. Do you have any idea how I can get one?

Welcome to the forum

Smart Junction Box(SJB) is the Body Computer, used in Rangers from 2004 to 2011

First you will need to FIX THE LEAK, usually from failed windshield gasket or rusted out windshield trough, or replacement SJB will suffer same fate

You can try cleaning off corrosion, use a De-Ox spray on circuit boards

If you have to replace it you need a 2007 Ranger SJB, 2004-2006 won't work, and 2008-2011 are different as well

Part number will be 7L5T-14B476-**
It will have a 2 digit number after this, **, you should try to match it to YOUR 2 digit number

If engine won't start with new SJB then it will need to be "programmed" by a Ford dealer, which means towing the truck to them
Or if you can get it running with original SJB drive it to them and have them "marry" new SJB to your Ranger

Or are you talking about the "Power Distribution Box" under the hood ?

Is that another name for the junction box where the fuses are? I was told that and the harness needs to be replaced. But if they cleaned the fuse box with silicone and it started I’m thinking just the junction box (where the fuses are) needs changing. I’m lost and don’t know what route to take because it’s a great truck for me.
