External CB speaker

External CB speaker
John, do you have schematics for the device that blends signals to your external CB speaker?? If I remember correctly, it blends the HAM and CB to one speaker.
Another option would be to blend the CB/HAM speaker output with the input from an amp that drives the stereo speakers if there's a way to do it.
Thanks.

Nevermind. I installed an amp to run my front speakers today and while I'm using line-level inputs from the radio, the amp does have speaker level inputs. I connected the CB speaker out to one channel of the speaker in on the amp, and it blends both inputs. Once I get the 2m installed, I'll connect that to the other channel to make it easier to differentiate sources while on the road/trail.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No problem. That was easy, lol.
Yes, I have a simple mixer and a 7 watt amp that everything feeds to EXCEPT the CB, lol. The 2 meter rig, HF rig, and laptop all feed that speaker, but the CB is overhead on the roof and it's down firing speaker is actually perfect just the way it is so I didn't mix it.

Aaahh.. yes, I want to yell at idiots in front of me. Maybe it was an upgrade to the later model, but my C75WXST has a 1/8th" jack on the "controller" box, that I already have an external speaker plugged in to (although the wire came loose on the way to Centralia, and I didn't bother to empty the glovebox to reach in there and plug it back in.) The small speaker is actually not terribly obtrusive on the passenger side of the tranny tunnel, up close to the dash, pointed over at me.

I'm really pleased that mine worked out the way it did. I was able to go from the 1/8" jack on the controller to the speaker in on the amp and it works perfectly. It's plenty loud enough to hear and it doesn't interfere with the stereo output.
I agree, a PA would be nice, but I think I'd just get myself in trouble with it... :-)

Oh, I see (now that I'm taking the time to read, durr,) you're setting it up to play through your STEREO speakers! That would indeed be handy, but not an option for my all-factory style setup (I don't think clarity would be too good running only through my single 10" subwoofer; the only aftermarket-driven component to my stereo!)
