LED light issues
LED light issues
Hello everyone, this is my first post along with my first issue with my truck. I have a 2010 ford ranger with the 2.3 4cyl and 5 speed manual. I just recently replaced all the bulbs on my truck with LED.
At first when I replaced the tail lights I only had the hyper flash, I then installed load resistors. When I finally installed the rest up front, the turn signal would stay lit on the dash and wouldn't blink. I then learned that I needed to install the EP27. I installed the EP27 and when I don't have my lights turned on and I step on my breaks my dash lights up along with my running lights up front.
With my lights still turned off, when I use my turn signal, it shows that it is signaling on my dash but when I step outside to see if it is working, both turn signals are on(like the hazards), but one side will be brighter (example. Signaling in to go right, the right light will be brighter than the left, and vice versa).
If I have my lights turned on everything works fine(ish) on the dash when I signal, the signal stays lit, but still kinda flashes, and when I go out to look at it, it flashes but it's barely enough to tell that it's brighter than the running lights.
Any ideas as to what could cause or fix this? Could it be as simple as installing load resistors on the front turn signals?
Any one have the same or similar issues? Or am I just the lucky one?
Thanks for any advice and I apologize for such a long post.

I have all leds on mine too. Don't have the same issue as you though. But when my headlights are on, my dash indicators for turn signals glow.
What type of bulbs did you put in the front? I've heard of people having to get special ones because of how the positive and ground is to the front turn signals, or at least that's what the l I sting said when I bought my front ones.

I have all leds on the entire truck.
Front turn signals/parking lights.
Side parking lights.
Rear brake lights.
Rear reverse lights.
All you need is the EP27 relay. Take out the load resistors. If you are still having problems I suggest you get better quality LEDS.
My front turn signals are from Vleds. My rear brakes are the L1224r retrofit (several threads on here somewhere about it).
I've had LEDS now in the truck for at least 4-5 years. I never once experienced anything that you are describing...
