LED Q's

is it legal to have non-orange tursignals? how bout the corners? id probally do blue turnsignals and white corners. anyone have pics front or rear LED's? POST EM UP!

Blue absolutely not. What else has blue flashing lights, Phil? White corners would likely be fine, but you have amber corners so the bulb color wouldn't matter much. It'd be different if you had clear corners.

TrePaul has white turnsignals I think if you want to look up his pictures.

I can assure you that blue turn signals are illegal in all 50 states. Except maybe New Mexico where they are for snow plows I think. If you've seen someone else driving around with blue turn signals or poseur green headlights, that just means they're also breaking the law.

Use the amber or white. Impersonating an emergency vehicle to signal a turn is not cool.

I wanna say this is a federal law.

Only amber or white in the front.

FireRanger 12-17-2008 11:36 AM

The federal law (DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) only applies to manufacturers, dealers, and shops. The end user of the vehicle is bound only by the laws of the state which you are in. In this case, it would be the state laws on color of lights, emergency lights, etc that apply.

You've probably been thinking of the blue lights I have in my Grille in front of my truck that shine back on my radiator and make it look blue.

Like I tried telling you when you PM'ed me, be careful about which LED's you use. I can get you far superior L1224R red bulbs, but not in other colors.

yellow_edge 12-17-2008 03:22 PM

^ nope. ive seen blue TURNSIGNALS.

I have blue turn signals also!

Blue is illegal and white turn signals with clear lenses is a no no too. Some states it's illegal to have red lights even as a volunteer with EMS or Fire. To me white bulbs poses a big safety risk.
