License Plate lamps

Hello all,
Couldn't find anything searching so I will ask. I just got a 04 Ranger Edge 4x4, 4.0 SOHV , automatic. My license Plate lights are not working. Is there a way to take off the lens to check the bulbs and/or test for voltage in the sockets? Or do I have to pull the whole socket assembly out from the back somehow? Don't want to break anything. Thanks!

the sockets just twist out from the back of the bumper

Yeah, you just twist them out like normal. Crawl under the truck and look behind the bumper. You will see what we mean.

Yes sir, It was bad bulbs. Both sockets pulled out easily from behind the bumper. Thanks again!
