I wouldn't put a battery on its side since over time it can leak. I would seriously think twice about doing something like that. You could Google search the issue, but I would be very surprised if anybody lays a battery on its side long term. In transport, storing, and in use, batteries are always in the up position.

For the money though I wonder why you didn't go optima? Much more aftermarket support in the world ob mountable battery boxes.
