Is it safe to lay sealed batteries on their side? I have a Deka 9a31 and I need to lay it down on it's side for my new install. Just want to make sure it's ok first.

 

AGM batteries are safe to put in any orientation.

 

I wouldn't put a battery on its side since over time it can leak. I would seriously think twice about doing something like that. You could Google search the issue, but I would be very surprised if anybody lays a battery on its side long term. In transport, storing, and in use, batteries are always in the up position.

You can mount it upside down over your head if you wish. No harm unless it falls.

For the money though I wonder why you didn't go optima? Much more aftermarket support in the world ob mountable battery boxes.

as long as its sealed it will be fine, and optima has had quality probs since someone bought them out a while back, even though i own a redtop in my truck ha. i did replace it under warranty already too.
