AC Clutch

2004 XLT, 4.0L, Noise coming from AC clutch best described as 2 pieces of metal sliding against each other. Now the clutch will not engage. I can rotate the clutch easily by hand. I am assuming the clutch needs replacing.
Could this be electrical ? I tried to test for current but I was unable to disconnect the two wires going to bottom of the clutch.
Suggestions ?

Check fuse 25 in engine bay fuse box, 10amp, thats the AC clutch fuse, if its blown then clutch is most likely shorted, and connector may have gotten hot so hard to remove

You can just replace the clutch part, Google: 2004 ford ranger AC clutch replacement
Pretty much all years and all Fords used the same replacement methods, but different parts of course
