Manual door locks

My 03 Ranger XL has manual door locks and lately it's taking a few seconds to get the doors unlocked with the key. This issues is intermittent but most of the time it's very annoying as I find myself standing there fiddling with the key in the lock trying not to force it but to get it to turn to unlock the door.
Never an issue opening the doors from the inside just the outside with the key and this goes for either the driver or passenger door. I have experienced this with 2 different keys with the same results.

Anyone experience this before?
thanks in advance for any help and suggestions

You can spray some silicone lube into the lock cylinder. If that doesn't work you can take the door panel off and lube the actual lock assembly.

You could alternatively just spray some WD40 on your key and work it into the lock, my 98' had the same problem.

You really should only use a dry graphite on lock cylinders. "Wet" lubricants like oils will attract dirt and grime which will make things worse over time.
