Manual to Power OEM door locks - HELP!
Ok, I finally have everything to convert my Non-Power anything doors to All-power everything doors. I decided to convert with all OEM components: mirrors, Window Motors, Door lock actuators. Actually they are from Dorman, but they are factory replacements.
So today I started the project only to get stopped in my tracks.
PROBLEM: The door lock actuators will not install onto the OEM door latches because the Door Ajar sensor & connector are in the way!
This is the sensor that is mounted to the bottom end of the OEM door latches.
Is there a sensor available that is turned 90 degrees to either side of the normal position (on the OEM latch)?

There are different actuators and parts, you may have the wrong year or model
Ford wouldn't even do what you are doing, lol, just saying doors were made with power group or no power group they didn't change them after the fact, and one reason for that is trying to match parts because they were NOT year specific, they were factory specific.
One factory may have more power group parts left after a change, so they just keep on using the older parts until they are gone

As far as the wrong year or model, It is my truck. I know it is a 2005 because I own it. I bought the only actuator available for that year from Dorman and it was confirmed to be the same as the one the LMC says it should have.
Anyone else have a clue? Do I need to go the the dealership?

Point of the year comment is that FORD part number for a year may not be right......................
You could have an 2003 door or a 2001 door on your 2005 Ranger, you got what the factory had when truck was assembled
They don't just throw away parts, they use them until they are gone, THEN they use the new version
So don't limit your search to 2005 model year

I chose the Factory route with a twist...I bought the door lock actuators and Window motors from a distributor that handles Dorman parts.
The Mirrors I purchased on Amazon for around $35 each(?)
Mirror switch is a Dorman replacement.
All OEM connectors with pigtails are EXPENSIVE! $25 - $40 each.
I bought everything on Amazon.com
If this is the way you want to go (it is still expensive) let me know and I will get the entire list and schematics for you. What year is your truck?
