Icon5 Using new wire loom in old truck

Currently i have a 2002 RWD manual 3.0L Ranger that was rolled and needs a new cab. I bought a 2005 Ranger that's a 4.0L 4x4 automatic and plan to put the cab from that onto the older 2002 Ranger. I was wondering if anyone knows whether i would be able to use the new wire loom out of the 2005 4x4 automatic and basically plug it into the older 2003 with the 3.0L manual. If anyone knows if this will work or not any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are wondering why i am keeping the 3.0L engine and not using the newer 4.0L engine it is because the 2005 Ranger already had the engine sold out of it before i bought the rest of the car. Again thanks for any help.

Wiring started changing heavily in 2004, as well did other things. I want to say the smart junction box came out around this time, which I believe is the GEM's replacement.

If this is the case, this massively over-complicates things and makes the job harder. In all honesty, I would just use the original harness from the original vehicle if only to make life easier.

Bottom line: Possible? Yes. Any benifit? Absolutely not.

Though, do keep the old harness around. There's plenty of wire in that harness that can be reused.

I didn't mention this in the post but the benefits from using the 2005 wire loom would be that i could use the new power windows , the steering wheel with cruise control, and i could (hopefully) use the new gauges. These three options are in the 2005 cab right now but not in the 2002 cab. Worst comes to worst i will just use the old loom and figure things out though. I will find out in about a week how hard this will be when i do the swap but if anyone already knows if it works/doesnt work it would make life easier haha.
