Moving gas gage?
I have a 99 ranger with 71k. My gas needle moves up and down when im driving and stoped. It almost moves a 1/4 tank and im never sure of how much gas i have left. Does anyone else have this problem or know what could be wrong with mine. I wanna say its just the gas moving around in the tank but no other car in my family does that. What do you think????

If any of the other gauges are behaving strangely, too, I would look at the power and ground to the cluster. If it's only the fuel gauge, I would suspect the sending unit circuit. Just guessing, though. |
well i dont even have a guess so urs is better then mine. its only the fuel gage tho.

Got to Ford and ask. You can probably weasel the answer out of them without paying a dime. Or if you want to wait, I'll ask my friend who works at Ford next week at school for you.

ya ill go up to fords and ask them but still see what ur friend has to say.
thanks |
my gauge in mien is out of whack, I almost ran out of gas b/c the needle decided to not go down to E when it was empty. Plust once it crosses the 1/2 mark it drops reall fast, then rises. It is a pain.
