HID

I installed HID light in my 04 xlt and they are stuck between high and low beam. In research I have found that it is a common problem but haven't been able to find a fix. Help please.

Have you checked this Youtube video?

It teaches viewers how to aim the headlights of ford vehicles.

Aiming them is not the issue. It is that I can not get them to transition between high beam and low beam.

when you bought the kit was it a hi/low kit? you can buy kits that are just low beam. the high/low kits have either a magnet in them that pull the headlight back inside the bulb, and some tilt the bulb up and down. it may say on the box if its a high low kit.

Was it a cheap kit that just pulls power from the headlight sockets, or a good one that uses the headlight socket as a switch for a relay? In either case, it is trpically required to repin the connector they give you in order to distinguish between the 9007 bulb and 9005 style as the plug is the same, but is pinned differently.

It was about $125 kit. I'll have my avionics electrician buddy check the pins and the fuses. My kit has the ballasts and power from the truck not the ols sockets. And the kit replaced the sockest and all just the wiringharness from the truck for turining on and for high beams.
