my hella's stopped working

the fuses are good, the light still lights up in the little switch. what gives?

gonna take a closer look soon. this is bugging me. they worked just a few days ago. i dont see what could have happened that made them stop working.

Did you wire them up on a realy? Or just a switch? (should be a relay...)

Could be the switch, bad ground, open wire, etc. i don't know how multimeter inclined you are so I can't quite go too far into diag.

I'd be putting a relay on if I were you.

Yep, no relay here, just hooked to the switch, battery and lights.

to the OP... check your switch. I went 18 months w/o mine, because I hooked the switch up backwards.

Order from there. But be careful cause it is really easy to spend lots of money.

Ground wire most likely. You should have them either on a fuse or a relay though.

'problem' is subject to what you are looking at... Every time you flip that switch it arcs internally. Over time that will cause a voltage drop to your lights, slowly making them dimmer and dimmer. Relays are designed for that much better than most switches, also keeps bulky wiring from the inside of your pickup.

So "no problems" could be said if you used a multimeter and showed low voltage drop over the switch. Not quite otherwise.

Both, definitely a fuse. Fuse and a relay aren't really a 'either or'. Always have a fuse, relay is optional.
