Need help identifying remote start system

So I was fiddling around under the dash today trying to get my horn to work and I noticed these boxes that said Datalink RS232 Port, ADS-AL; and the other one said Directed Electronics 4x03. I have gathered that these are both pieces to a remote start/aftermarket alarm system for my truck. What is odd is that when I bought the truck it didn't come with any kind of remote for the system, the seller also made no mention of the truck having remote start. So I basically have no information about whether the system works or not, if anybody knows anything about a setup like this I would really appreciate it.

I don't know all the pieces that are involved in a complete system, however I do know that the 4x03 one is called the brain, which runs all other operations. That is basically the extent of my knowledge on the subject, I have no idea what the datalink box does other than it is a part of the system. There are a couple shops that deal in this type of stuff around me but i figured I'd ask you all first in case anyone knows about this type of stuff. Thanks,

Rob

I have a viper which is made by directed electronics they also make a few other brands as well if you can get a serial number of the box it will help identify what it is it most likely works you'll just have to get some new keypads and maybe an antenna if you don't see one the antenna would be up on the dash somewhere it has to have direct line of sight out to work and the datalink box is probably to bypass pats if you have coded keys.
