Ohc question

Well i put in the an ohc a while ago but my temperature is never right. It is wired to Johns directions the only thing i dont have wired up is the speed wire because i dont know what to hook it too even when my truck has been sitting all day and i just turn the key its not right its colder than what it is out.

Anyone know what might be wrong with it?

Thanks

Cam

I know in a stock OHC in my mom's car it takes 15 min for the temp to be right... not sure if it's the same with these??

The speed wire has to be used. I tells the temp display that the truck is moving.

^^What he said....that speed sensor HAS to be wired up in order to get a proper temperature reading. It's all about mathmatics that are computed in that OHC circuit board....takes speed, temp sensor, puts it in a formula, to determine accurate temperature, then sends it to the display.

You have a mechanical speedo right? If you do then you are pretty much SOL. Maybe you can run power to it but I don't know how well it would work.

If you have cruise control there's supposed to be a speed wire for that. We're putting one in for a BroncoII someone on another forum said it'd work.

I don't have a 1994 schematic but it should be electrically identical to the 1993. Gray/black at the PCM, at the Speed Control Amplifier or at the VSS signal Generator on the transfer case (or anywhere in between).
