Need help wiring 1996 2.3 to stand alone
Welcome to the forum
Will you be using the 1996 2.3l PCM(computer) and engine wiring harness?
If so you really just need to add 12volt(key on) and grounds to PCM
Also 12v(key on) to coil packs
And provide fuel system on engine(injectors) with 35psi fuel pressure
For this you will need the 1996 Ford Ranger EVTM(electrical and vacuum troubleshooting manual), Ford sends these out every model year for every model to their Ford Dealers so they can troubleshoot any issues, part of the Shop Manual Set, but often sold separately
Seen here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/283418404866
Basically Free to use because you can re-sell after using it, covers all engine models and options
1996 2.3l doesn't have hole for distributor so would be hard to go computerless
