Towing...

One of my good friends had a minor emergancy which left her car stranded in the middle of nowhere, I me, of course, being the caring person I am, volunteered my truck to tow her car back home. She said she had proper towing equipment in her trunk so I'd be good to go...

Turns out she had el-cheapo nylon rope with two hooks on either end. Long story short, we tied it all up nice and secure, and I towed her maybe 2,500 lb Buick 8 or 9 miles to her apartment, trip went well, no accidents.

What I'm wondering is this is the first time I've towed anything without a hitch and anything in means of saftey. What should I check for damage? The truck is riding and driving just fine, I'm just making sure. It did bend my bumper, but I don't really care because I got rear-ended recently and the whole bumper will be replaced anyway.

Nothing should be hurt. You could have bent your bumper if you jerked the car really hard but other then that you should be good

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Unless your tranny was straining really hard, you didn't have any tongue weight from a trailer or anything, so you'll be fine.
