2003 Ranger, 50,300 miles
Dash lights on while running: ABS, Brake, Air Bag
Air conditioning does not work.

I went to pick up mail, turned motor on and the above listed dash lights did not go out and the air conditioning would not come on.
Picked up mail, came back home, put the truck into park and the lights went out and the air conditioning came on.
Turned off motor and then turned back on, lights went out like they normally do and air conditioning came on.
Neighbor said there is some kind of a link between the above mentioned dash lights and the transmission ???
The truck has not done that in last few days, turns on normally.
