no brake lights

hi i have a 98 ranger.the brake lights aren't working and the abs light is on.i checked the fuses theyre good.anyone with an idea?thanx tim.

check for power at the brake switch on the pedal. if there is power on one side and not the other( while pressed down) then the switch is defective.
